Health & Safety Plan

UPDATED: Thursday, April 28

ADHA22 is looking forward to welcoming our attendees and exhibitors back to forge new relationships and celebrate old ones. You can be rest assured that the safety of our attendees is our #1 top priority. ADHA is working closely with the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC) to ensure a safe and enjoying experience at ADHA22.

As we plan for the premier dental hygiene event of the year, we are taking extra precautions beyond those mandated by government and local authorities.

Masks are currently not required to be worn indoors at the Kentucky International Convention Center. Attendees will have the choice of wearing or not wearing masks. ADHA will continue to monitor local, state, and federal guideslines and will update the Health & Safety plan accordingly.

**As of April 28, 2022 ADHA is no longer requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to attend ADHA22 Annual Conference. We encourage attendees to continue to follow best practices for testing, and protecting themselves and others. If you are experiencing any symptoms, please seek necessary testing and/or medical attention and refrain from attending.

What precautions is ADHA implementing for the safety and health of attendees?

The health and safety of our employees and attendees are our top priority.
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols for ADHA meeting and event spaces.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the meeting space by the KICC and ADHA.
  • Frequent employee and vendor handwashing will be required, with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and increase monitoring to ensure adherence.
  • No-touch policy (i.e. shaking hands and limiting contact).
  • Multiple entrances and exits will help manage flow and discourage crowded waiting areas.
  • Use of shields or separators at registration and other areas as needed.
  • ADHA will continue to monitor safety guidelines. Additional safety measures will be provided prior to the convention.

What precautions is the convention center implementing for the health & safety of attendees?

  • KICC will continue to monitor the situation through updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Kentucky Department of Public Health Services.
  • The KICC has a disinfectant procedure in place for cleanings, which follows current CDC and WHO guidance. There will also be an increased number of hand sanitation sites available at the KICC and surrounding campus, providing alcohol-based hand sanitizer for all attendees and staff.
  • The KICC will work with the ADHA on the guidelines for specific event participants, exhibit hall and conventions. In public areas, practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet apart from other groups of people while standing in lines, using elevators, and moving around the property.
  • KICC will conduct daily cleaning of all door handles throughout the building. The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces including countertops, escalators, elevators, elevator buttons, vending machines, door handles, public bathrooms, ATMs, stair and escalator handrails, dining surfaces, all seating areas and tables.
  • Senior Level Compliance Managers will be on hand to enforce procedures and protocols.
  • If the KICC is alerted to a presumptive case of COVID-19 at the KICC, the proper staff will work with the Kentucky Department of Health Services to follow the appropriate actions recommended.
